It’s actually a line out converter. You connect speaker wire from the audio OUT on the head unit and covert it to RCA that plugs into your amplifier. I just wanted to correct a previous review.

Its actually a line in converter. It converts an amplified signal and steps it down to a line level. Typically its used in car audio, but in my case I have a an HDMI compliant Television but it doesn’t have an RCA phono output and I wanted to hook it up to my receiver amp. This line level converter is the solution and it works very well. I opened the t.v. and wired a pair of RCA female connectors to the speakers, installed some switches to by pass the internal speakers and hooked the converter to the RCA female outputs I’d installed on the t.v. I get digital output from the t.v. but not from the built in DVD player. Now I have stereo output from all the inputs to the t.v. going to my amp. The design of the PAC converter is such that you can take off the caps on the ends, which I did and soldered some male RCA connectors to replace the wires that come built in to hook to the car audio. So now this converter can be used with regular RCA cables on any device with RCA outputs to speakers and can change the signal to a line level input. Flexible and functional and the price is right.

Worked well until it stated failing to provide a low pass filter. Lasted around 6 months. Usually on start up it does not filter out high frequencies which does not sound good through sub. After a few minutes it will work again. Worried about blowing my sub of volume is high.
